Job Overview: Media Coordinator

A Media Coordinator manages and supports the planning, execution, and monitoring of media campaigns and communications. This role involves coordinating media activities, liaising with media outlets, and ensuring that all media-related tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively to promote the organization’s message and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Media Campaign Management: Assist in the development and implementation of media campaigns and strategies. Coordinate media buys, placements, and scheduling to ensure campaign goals are met.

  2. Media Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with media representatives, including journalists, editors, and broadcasters. Facilitate media inquiries and coordinate interviews or press conferences.

  3. Content Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams to gather, create, and distribute media content such as press releases, media kits, and promotional materials. Ensure all content aligns with the organization's messaging and branding.

  4. Media Monitoring: Track and analyze media coverage and public relations activities. Use media monitoring tools to assess the impact of media campaigns and report on media trends and mentions.

  5. Event Coordination: Plan and manage media-related events, including press conferences, media briefings, and promotional events. Handle logistics, invitations, and on-site arrangements to ensure successful execution.

  6. Reporting: Prepare and present reports on media activities, campaign performance, and media coverage. Analyze metrics and provide insights to optimize future media strategies.

  7. Budget Management: Assist in managing media budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring that media spending is within the allocated budget.

  8. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the media relations team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining media contact lists, and handling correspondence.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in media monitoring tools and software
  • Experience in coordinating media campaigns and events
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with media professionals
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field
