Job Overview: Business Development Executive/Manager

A Business Development Executive or Manager is responsible for driving the growth and expansion of a company's business. They identify new business opportunities, build relationships with potential clients, and develop strategies to increase revenue and market presence. This role involves a combination of strategic planning, sales, and networking to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Opportunity Identification: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential clients, markets, and partnerships. Conduct market research and analysis to uncover trends and opportunities for growth.

  2. Client Acquisition: Develop and implement strategies to attract and acquire new clients. Initiate and manage outreach efforts, including cold calls, emails, and networking events.

  3. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients. Understand their needs and requirements, and provide tailored solutions to address their business challenges.

  4. Proposal Development: Prepare and present business proposals, presentations, and pitches to potential clients. Highlight the company's value proposition and demonstrate how its products or services can meet client needs.

  5. Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives. Monitor sales performance, analyze results, and adjust strategies as needed to maximize effectiveness.

  6. Market Analysis: Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions. Use insights to inform business development strategies and identify areas for competitive advantage.

  7. Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with clients to close deals. Ensure that agreements align with company policies and contribute to overall business goals.

  8. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.

  9. Reporting: Track and report on business development activities, including progress toward goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and sales metrics. Provide regular updates to senior management.

  10. Networking: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build and expand professional networks. Stay informed about industry developments and leverage connections for business opportunities.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in CRM software and business development tools
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
